Switching To O2
O2 PAC Code
To switch to O2 the first step is to get in touch with your mobile phone provider and ask for your PAC code. This will usually take approximately 2-3 days to arrive. When your O2 PAC code request has been completed and you have your PAC number, click here to view the very latest online deals and special offers from O2. Once you have found the deal you want from O2, when completing your order, submit your PAC code when requested into the approprite box on the ordering form. O2 will then provide you with a temporary number to use whilst your existing number is transferred over, which may take a few days.
Please note - that you should not cancel your contract with your existing provider until they have provided you with your PAC Code O2, free of charge, and you have given this to your new mobile phone provider, O2. If you cancel before then your new service provider, O2 may not be able to transfer your number across and you may also incur a connection fee.
PAC Code O2
Switching From O2
When switching from O2, the first step is to contact O2 on 0870 241 0202 (or 202 from your mobile phone) and place a request for your O2 PAC Code. Your code will then either be over the phone or will arrive at your address within two working days. Once you have received the code, give it to your new network, who will be able to ensure you keep your current number for your new phone.
When your O2 PAC code request is complete and your number has arrived, order your new phone online. At some stage during the ordering process you will need to provide your PAC Code. Be warned- some of the best mobile packages will be found online and some could be exclusive to online customers.
The whole switching process will take up to seven working days. Once completed, your SIM will not work on your network. However, your new network will provide you will a new SIM which will work with your existing number.
Please note- Porting your number is impossible if you stay with the same network but get a new phone. However, you should be eligible for an upgrade from your network.
If you haven't finished your minimum contract length with your network provider, you will be unable to port your number. To see whether you are able to port your number, check your contract terms and conditions with your network .
Please note - do not cancel your contract with O2 or your network until you have your PAC Code free of charge and this has been passed on to your new network. If you do cancel your contract, it will be difficult for your new network to transfer your number over, it may even be impossible, and a charge may be incurred.
Remember, your O2 PAC Code is supplied with no extra cost to you, therefore there is no charge for wanting to keep your mobile phone number. Legally, networks should supply you with your PAC Code within five working days, so if you do not get your code, you should contact your network in order to establish where it is. Legally, networks should be able to give you an explanation as to where your O2 PAC Code is.
Porting your number is an easy way to keep your number when changing networks. Consumers today are expected to remember a lot of passwords, numbers and general digits. The average adult needs to remember at least fifteen different passwords and codes in order to get into their work computers, their home computers, access their bank accounts, get into their homes and much, much more. So to ensure that your mobile phone isn't one of the fifteen you have to change and re learn, save your mobile phone number with a PAC Code.
